Meet the Team
Jimmy's father opened the Sidney Jackson & Son business in 1920 selling and maintaining tractors. Jimmy then realised that to move with the times they needed to sell cars. After speaking to his father, only one brand came to mind and that was Ford! So, in the summer of 1955 Sidney Jackson & Son Ltd was rebranded as a Ford Retail Dealer. Jimmy sadly passed away in April 2014 at the age of 85. However, his drive, ethics and customer service values are still the main focus of the company today and we know he would be exceptionally proud that his son Tim, and now Grandson George, are part of the business.
Thelma took hold of the reins after Jimmy passed away, however Thelma was at Jimmys side for over 47 years. In 2013, Thelma who represented the Prestbury Ward on Macclesfield Borough Council from 1999 to 2007, was recognised for services to the communities in Prestbury, Macclesfield and East Cheshire spanning 40 years which earned her an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Thelma is at the dealership every day to check that the team is meeting the high standards set by Jimmy, Tim & Liam. She is very proud of what her team achieves daily. Sher loves to hear about customer experiences while out in Prestbury and the surrounding areas.
Timothy (Tim) is the Managing Director for Sidney Jackson & Son and worked alongside his father since he left school. Tim has taken over from his Father, Jimmy, as the face of the company. Tim makes sure that your car is having the correct service and repair completed while it’s in our workshop. Tim also ensures that your New or Used car is prepared to the very highest standard! He is the last person to touch any new or used vehicle before it leaves the dealership with its new owner!

Liam’s main role is the New and Used car Sales Manager and since Jimmy’s passing he has taken the added role of General Manager of the dealership, overseeing the overall day to day running of the car sales team and vehicle workshops. Working closely with our owner Mrs Jackson, he strives to ensure that Tim and the rest of the staff can offer the best experience to our customers from start to finish. Liam started in the motor industry in early 2000 and joined Sidney Jackson's in 2008. Coming from a Ford owned dealer group, he has a wealth of experience, managing dealerships of all shapes and sizes, including other manufacturing brands in the industry. Liam ensures that our new and used car choice is always of the highest quality and that our technicians consistently perform to the highest standards! He has a wealth of experience in locating your dream car at the right price, with contacts in most brands he has the ability to locate anything! Put him to the challenge and see what he can find!

Steve originally joined our sales team in 2009. He entered the industry back in 1993 and has gained experience as a Sales Executive, Finance Manager, Sales Manager and a Motability Specialist.
Steve has moved his focus towards bookkeeping & accountancy, during which time we supported his passion and helped him become our bookkeeper. Steve has progressed his knowledge and experience so much that he now looks after our accounts full time! Steve also supports Tim within the workshop and Liam in the company operations.

John has worked at Sidney Jackson's November 1983! John has held numerous roles within the company including petrol station operations and our Tyre manager. Since early 2021 John has hung up his overalls and taken the challenge of what we think is the most important jobs in the dealership....Service advisor!
John now works in warmth of the showroom booking our customers into the workshop
diary, taking calls, updating customers on the progress of their vehicle repair, overseeing the tyre department, health and saftey manager plus many other duties! John is a well known figure within the company and he amazing sense of humour keeps us all going!

Stuart joined our team from a Ford Owned dealergroup, he has worked within the Ford parts sector for over 26 years! He has great knowledge of historical parts and is able to assist you in locating the correct part for your classic or modern Ford!
Stuart is based in our workshop office and he looks after everything parts related, Stuart also complaetes our invoices after your car is completed within the workshop.

Andy is our senior technician with over 25 years of experience in Ford dealerships, he has the knowledge that only comes with experience! You might have seen Andy in different areas of the dealership, he looks after the parts department while Stuart is away.
Andrew has worked for Sidney Jackson's since June 1980, Andrew is our main MOT Tester but is also a very experienced mechanic who will bring old style techniques to modern cars!
Matt joing us 4 years ago, you will see Matt in different locations on the site from service collection and delivery, valeting and recently he has qualified to fit tyres and tracking!
Graham has been a professional valeter for over 21 years and has worked with us for over 10 years, he works close with Tim to ensure that all the New & Used cars are perfect before you collect your new car.
